Growth
In this cartoon, the author is showing how Republicans are not giving up to tax cuts for the rich even though it will help a lot. In the cartoon, the farmer, aka Congress, says, "I don't understand...we used plenty of fertilizer." This means in other words that they have tried to cut as many things and create a smaller deficit. They have a bunch of fertilizer on the side on the cartoon that has "tax cuts for the rich" on it.This says that basically if you use it, you will create growth in the plants, likewise, cutting the deficit big time.

Nahh Dog.
In this cartoon, it shows Obama holding a sign that says 'BUDGET' and him pointing to an old couple that has a sign up on their wall that says 'God Bless Our Social Security Cola'. He says "A-Ha! There's the culprit!" Behind Obama is a big man with a bat holding a bag that says 'Health Care Cost$'. This man almost represents the burden which is Medicare on Obama's back. Him pointing to the innocent-looking old couple is showing how some may think that he is pointing the finger at anyone else but himself for the deficit. Many do blame Medicare for a big chunk of the deficit, and this cartoon is showing how Obama is not budging on his health care benefits.

On the Field to Redemption
This cartoon shows how immigrants are now required to go through so much more to get their citizenship. Obama is putting a lot more force on state lines and the border, making it harder for illegal immigrants to get into America. This is similar, but the legal immigrants are having to go through tougher situations with getting their citizenship. This cartoon is basically comparing getting citizenship to working in fields. This comparison is stating how working through a field for years is the same as trying to get your citizenship; you will be at it for years.

I'm in Miami Tric*
This cartoon is commenting on how some in America may think that Obama goes on a lot of vacations compared to an average American. The author is showing how they believe that American cannot afford vacations at all, in other words, the working class. In the cartoon, it shows Obama laid up on an island, with sunglasses on. He has a little bit of a pudge and he has a cooler with all of the places that he has visited on it. This can show how the author is trying to portray how relaxed and maybe a little lazy. Next to his chair is a newspaper that reads, "A vacation a month! Biden's $585,000 Hotel Bill." This is further pushing the main idea of the cartoon onto the rest of the Obama administration.

Um.....
I enjoy this political cartoon because I do agree with the author and I share their political ideology. This cartoon is talking about the issue with gay marriage, and the conflict with the Supreme Court. In the cartoon, it has 12 blocks of a man, representing the Supreme Court, and in the first block, it has a bubble over his head that states, "And if anyone knows one good reason why this same-sex couple should not be wed, let them speak now..." In the next 10 blocks it shows the supreme court not saying or doing anything. In the last block, the bubble says, "Of course, LATER is good too... No point in rushing things..." This is basically saying that the Supreme Court has no real good reason for as of why they are not granting legal gay marriage to same-sex couples. Also, the author is implying that they are stalling for some odd reason.

Shelve It
This cartoon blog is showing how lawmakers are always "shelving bills" because they are afraid of what it could be. This cartoon is playing off of their insecurities almost because they want to show the public how much they are afraid of change or something different. Also, this shows how some in Congress are very comfortable, and are not willing to compromise based off of what may happen due to passing certain bills or out of the fear of having something of theirs taken away. In the cartoon, it shows a bunch of older, white men: Congressmen obviously. They represent the typical Republican male, which is another thing that the author is taking a jab at.

Security!
In this cartoon, the author is talking about the budget and how that does not include the poor or those in need. This cartoon is showing how Republicans, like Paul Ryan, are not fitting the poor into the budget, but more like kicking them out of the plan, thus, making them poorer. The cartoon shows Paul Ryan trying to pitch another budget plan, and someone from a catholic church running in, interrupting, while holding a sign that says, "Help the poor!" Ryan exclaims, "Someone call security!" This is another way to show how Republicans are trying to oust the lower classes.
