Growth

In this cartoon, the author is showing how Republicans are not giving up to tax cuts for the rich even though it will help a lot. In the cartoon, the farmer, aka Congress, says, "I don't understand...we used plenty of fertilizer." This means in other words that they have tried to cut as many things and create a smaller deficit. They have a bunch of fertilizer on the side on the cartoon that has "tax cuts for the rich" on it.This says that basically if you use it, you will create growth in the plants, likewise, cutting the deficit big time.

Nahh Dog.

In this cartoon, it shows Obama holding a sign that says 'BUDGET' and him pointing to an old couple that has a sign up on their wall that says 'God Bless Our Social Security Cola'. He says "A-Ha! There's the culprit!" Behind Obama is a big man with a bat holding a bag that says 'Health Care Cost$'. This man almost represents the burden which is Medicare on Obama's back. Him pointing to the innocent-looking old couple is showing how some may think that he is pointing the finger at anyone else but himself for the deficit. Many do blame Medicare for a big chunk of the deficit, and this cartoon is showing how Obama is not budging on his health care benefits.

On the Field to Redemption

This cartoon shows how immigrants are now required to go through so much more to get their citizenship. Obama is putting a lot more force on state lines and the border, making it harder for illegal immigrants to get into America. This is similar, but the legal immigrants are having to go through tougher situations with getting their citizenship. This cartoon is basically comparing getting citizenship to working in fields. This comparison is stating how working through a field for years is the same as trying to get your citizenship; you will be at it for years.

I'm in Miami Tric*

This cartoon is commenting on how some in America may think that Obama goes on a lot of vacations compared to an average American. The author is showing how they believe that American cannot afford vacations at all, in other words, the working class. In the cartoon, it shows Obama laid up on an island, with sunglasses on. He has a little bit of a pudge and he has a cooler with all of the places that he has visited on it. This can show how the author is trying to portray how relaxed and maybe a little lazy. Next to his chair is a newspaper that reads, "A vacation a month! Biden's $585,000 Hotel Bill." This is further pushing the main idea of the cartoon onto the rest of the Obama administration.
